LOVE/HATE for Week 14

Well, after my strong showing last week (5 for 5 in my picks) and the fun I had thinking up character comparisons, I figured I would give it another go this week. Unfortunately for you, dear readers, I have finals approaching and after translating Proverbs 31 from Hebrew to English, my mind was a bit shot this week. So this blog is not quite the same thematically, but just my picks and some pithy words thrown in for good measure. I hope your team wins (despite my picks)!

Hatter vs. Sose –

Drew Brees + luck…this week the luck comes from Wes Welker. I am pretty sure Chris Johnson and Spiller used up their luck last week…Unfortunately, I don’t like anyone on Buffalo anymore as they are continuing to struggle while San Diego is looking to
make another late season run. So I like Ryan Matthews and I like the Ravens against the Colts…but not enough to tip the scales…

Spider-Dawgs vs. Smails –

Again, it is hard to bet against Aaron Rodgers, especially when he is at home in the cold against a team from California. Mendenhall against Cleveland seems to be a great match up as well, but I don’t see Harvin having a repeat performance this week. It is a little disturbing to see Bradshaw and Wells as questionable and against the defenses they would have to play, but I will stick with my prediction from last week – Smails just needs to hit his averages…
Winner: Bushwood Smails

Adonis DNA vs. Bestminster

I love Rivers and Jackson against Buffalo, Wallace against Cleveland, and 49ers against Arizona. Brady (although he did far too little against the Colts) and Jennings have great match ups but there is still that lingering question mark surrounding all of Aces RB’s. I suppose I cant pick a tie, so….

Noah Kiser Cheats vs. Year of the Woman

Romo should play well since it is a big game against the Giants, same with Nicks. McCoy and Jackson have gone opposite directions on the Eagles since Desean basically pulled a Randy Moss and quit playing without telling anyone. Unfortunately for NKC, YOTW’s team, outside her kicker, are all playing weak defenses and have the possibility to put up large numbers. I am not saying it will happen, or that NKC wont put up equally big numbers, but this is a hard call as well. Do I go match ups, or stay true to my fellow snake?

GoldenEyes vs. Green Wave

So I hate Tebow, Bush, and Fitzgerald because of the defenses they are playing… I will get something, but not much from them. Greene and Helu would surprise me if they repeated last weeks performance, so I guess I just love Floyd. Ryan, Rice, and White will carry the Green Wave this week and I think a touchdown or two for Jermichael Finley may also be in order…

Tungsten IV Chloride vs. Jumping Justin

I still love Cam Newton and I want to like the Tomlinson and Holmes, but KC’s defense hasn’t been awful the last few weeks. Steven Jackson against Marshawn Lynch is a fun match up, but unfortunately, football here in St. Louis has been depressing as of late. Williams is finally starting to look consistent, but too little too late for what was a 3rd or 4th round pick?
